Armendus Support Arm Systems for Industrial Control Panels

Armendus Support Arm Systems are designed for mounting and positioning control panels and HMI units on industrial machines. The range includes ARM050, ARM080 and ARM130 systems with compatible profiles, joints, couplings and mounting accessories.

Armendus Support Arm Systems

A control panel needs to be in the right place. Too far from the machine and it becomes difficult to operate; too close without proper support and you can end up with a cramped or awkward setup. That's where a good support arm system makes a difference. Armendus Support Arm Systems are designed to hold and position control panels and operator interfaces around industrial machines while giving you flexibility in how the complete setup is arranged. These support arm systems are part of our Enclosures and Accessories range, along with other components used for industrial installations.

The range is built around three main support arm series - ARM050, ARM080 and ARM130. The right series depends mainly on the panel size, load and the type of installation you're working with. ARM050 is rated for loads up to 50 kg at a 1 m arm length, ARM080 up to 80 kg and ARM130 up to 130 kg at a 1 m arm length. This gives you a straightforward way to choose a suitable system instead of trying to make one arm fit every application.

ARM050, ARM080 or ARM130 - Which One Makes Sense?

For smaller and lighter operator panels, ARM050 is a practical option. It has a modular design and can be configured with different profiles, joints and mounting components. The range includes support profiles along with rotatable panel couplings, intermediate hinges, top-mounted joints, wall-mounted hinges and panel adaptors.

When the application involves a medium-sized control panel, ARM080 provides a higher load capacity and a wider selection of connection options. One useful feature of the ARM080 range is the availability of VESA connection options, along with panel couplings, tilting adaptors, Ø48 adaptors and other joint components.

For larger and heavier control panels, ARM130 is the bigger option in the range. A 1 m ARM130 operator arm can carry up to 130 kg, and the series includes support profiles, panel couplings, intermediate hinges, wall and top mounting joints and other connection components.

It's More Than Just a Support Profile

One thing worth keeping in mind when selecting a support arm is that the profile itself is only one part of the system. You also need the right connection pieces to actually position and mount the panel.

Depending on the series, Armendus offers 90° angle pieces, rotatable intermediate hinges, top-mounted joints, wall-mounted hinges, wall-socket mounting brackets, panel couplings and panel adaptors. These components allow the support arm to be configured around the machine instead of forcing the panel into one fixed position.

For example, ARM080 includes rotatable panel couplings, 90° angle pieces, wall and top mounting components, Ø48 adaptors and panel tilting options. ARM130 also has its own range of panel couplings, hinges, mounting brackets and adaptors.

Profiles for Different Installation Requirements

The support profile is what determines the basic arm length and working reach. Armendus provides different profile lengths across the ARM050, ARM080 and ARM130 series, so the system can be configured according to the available space and required panel position.

The profiles are made from aluminium and use a RAL 7035 light grey finish. The support arm systems also use a sealing design intended for industrial panel applications.

Mount the Panel the Way Your Machine Needs It

Not every machine has the same layout, and that's why the joint options are important. A top-mounted connection can work when the arm is supported from above, while wall-mounted hinges and brackets are useful when the support needs to be fixed to a wall or machine structure.

Rotatable joints can also make the operator panel easier to position. Depending on the selected component, the panel can be connected at an angle, rotated or tilted to suit the operator's working position. The ARM080 range, for example, includes rotatable panel couplings and panel tilting/VESA adaptor options.

Where Are Armendus Support Arms Used?

Support arm systems are commonly used wherever an operator needs a control panel or HMI positioned close to the machine. They are particularly useful in applications where the panel needs to be supported while still allowing a practical working and movement area.

Typical applications include:

  • CNC machines and machine tools
  • Industrial automation equipment
  • HMI operator stations
  • Control panels
  • Production and assembly machines
  • Packaging machinery
  • Manufacturing equipment
  • OEM machine applications

The modular construction also makes these systems useful when the final panel position needs to be decided around the machine layout rather than before the machine is installed.

How Do You Choose the Right Armendus Support Arm?

Start with the panel and its total supported load rather than choosing the profile first.

For lighter applications, ARM050 may be sufficient. If you are working with a medium-sized panel, ARM080 provides a higher load capacity and additional connection options. For larger and heavier panels, ARM130 is designed for higher loads. At a 1 m arm length, the rated capacities are up to 50 kg for ARM050, 80 kg for ARM080 and 130 kg for ARM130.

After selecting the series, check the required arm length, mounting position, panel coupling and the joints needed to create the required configuration. It is also worth checking the load diagram for the actual arm length and arrangement rather than relying only on the 1 m reference capacity.

Armendus Support Arm Systems FAQs - iBuzoo

Q1. What are Armendus Support Arm Systems used for?

Armendus Support Arm Systems are used to support and position industrial control panels, HMI panels and operator interfaces around machines. The modular design allows the arm to be configured with different profiles, joints, couplings and mounting components.

Q2. What is the difference between ARM050, ARM080 and ARM130?

The main difference is the load capacity and intended panel size. At a 1 m arm length, ARM050 supports up to 50 kg, ARM080 up to 80 kg and ARM130 up to 130 kg. ARM080 is also available with VESA connection options, while ARM130 is intended for larger and heavier panel applications.

Q3. Are joints and mounting parts available separately?

Yes. The Armendus range includes separate support profiles, angle pieces, intermediate hinges, top-mounted joints, wall-mounted hinges, mounting brackets, panel couplings and adaptors. This allows the support arm to be built according to the required configuration.

Q4. Can the support arm be rotated?

Yes. Several components in the ARM050, ARM080 and ARM130 ranges are designed for rotatable connections. Depending on the selected joint or panel coupling, the panel can be positioned or rotated to suit the machine and operator's working area.

Q5. Which support arm should I choose for a heavy control panel?

For heavier control panels, ARM130 provides the highest load capacity of the three main series, with up to 130 kg at a 1 m arm length. The actual allowable load depends on the arm length and configuration, so the load diagram and complete arrangement should be checked before selection.

Q6. Does Armendus offer panel adaptors and VESA options?

Yes. Panel coupling and adaptor options are available across the range. ARM080 specifically includes VESA-related options along with panel tilting adaptors and other panel connection components.

Q7. What should I check before ordering a support arm system?

Check the total panel load, required arm length, mounting location, panel dimensions and the type of movement or positioning required. You should also select the required joints, couplings and adaptors so that all components are suitable for the chosen ARM series.
